To pack or not to pack

From the coast to the redwoods, and desert temperatures from 110 day time to 45 degrees at night. What to pack? Lots.....
For two weeks of travel throughout California, I had to be selective with what to pack so verything fits in the trunk of my Acura.

Hiking - running - cold nights and beach.

Sun protection!

Snorkel gear but no fins!

Lots of dehydrated foods and oh peanut butters. I will be getting fresh produce every few days from close by towns.

Tent, sleeping bag, small mat, collapsible chair and trekking poles.

Staying warm from chilly desert nights.

Bugs love me. So much repellant.

Cameras cameras camers.

On hand.

Large overnight pack, hiking pack and my mini owl lnsulated lunch bag.

All ready to hit the road!

Ready For a New Adventure?

I got this overwhelming sensation to explore - constantly

Friends say that I am on the go, which is true (weekend trips, Family visits, work) but this need is different, to meditate and be with myself - alone - in nature (camera in-hand of course)

I moved to CA in 1998 when I was 17. I was most familiar with the Bay Area as I used to visit it with my family as a child during summer vacations. Through the years I had the chance to see some regions of CA over extended weekends. I am very excited to take on this trip to uncover the other regions.

I am taking 16 days to explore our beautiful golden state, my home for the past 16 years. I have the overall route planned out but I will spend the night wherever I fall with no reservations. I might have to spend the nigh in the car sometimes I imagine ;)

I will start from San Diego to San Jose in one day to make a family event over the weekend, Following that I will head along the California Coast north to Oregon, cross over to the east side of CA. From Lava Beds National monument to Mono Lake, Death Valley and Mojave Desert.

Let the journey begin... Travel is food to the soul, and exploration brings me self discovery!

Love,

Maha

Inca Trail - Trek of a lifetime

Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. What a magical 4 day trek. I will be posting a more descriptive, day by day update. But in the meantime, checkout the photos.

Enjoy,
